2024 Thames Valley Championship

The Thames Valley Chess Championship will be run on Saturday the 7th Dec 2024 the Venue is the Turua Hall
The 2024 Thames Valley Chess Championship is for Youth, Juniors, and Seniors. This year it will cost (to cover Hall hireage, Arbiter cost and Trophies) $10 for Seniors to enter (over 18 as at 7 DEC 2024) and FREE to enter for Juniors ( aged from 13 to 18 as at 7 DEC 2023) and FREE to enter for Youth Players ( aged 12 and under as at 7 DEC 2024)

All players must be committed to being in the Tournament Hall from 9am to 5.00pm as below.
Most Importantly Players need to be in the Turua Hall at 9am sharp because our International Arbiter (Bruce)will be outlining the playing process and Chess Rules for the day.
Thames Valley residents on the day of the Tournament only can win Area Titles.
- Thames Valley for the purpose of this tournament includes: Anywhere in the districts Thames-Coromandel, Hauraki and Matamata-Piako as well as Morrinsville and Matamata
There are 4 trophys to take away:
- Champion (Highest scrore overall)
- Area Champion (Highest score for a Thames Valley resident)
- Junior Champion (Highest scrore for a Junior)
- Junior Area Champion (Highest score for a Junior that is a Thames Valley resident)

The competition will be run as a 6 round swiss tournament.

Rules These remain the same as for previous tournaments
